South Trinidad without water as Chatham Water Treatment plant undergoing repairs

A mechanical problem is being blamed for the lack of water supply to part of South West Trinidad.
WASA said one of the Wells at the Chatham Water Treatment Plant is currently undergoing extensive repair work, thus affecting the pipe-borne water supply to South West Trinidad.

According to WASA, repair works should be completed by Friday February 5th.

Areas affected include: Rancho Quemado, Bennet Village, Santa Flora, Palo Seco, St Francis Village, Erin, Los Bajos, Waddle Village, Chatham, Boodram Trace, Point Coco, Unity Road, Augustusville, Coromandel Road, Southern Main Road from Cap De Ville Junction to Point Coco Ext Junction.

WASA says operational adjustments put in place for redistribution from other sources to supplement the production shortfall at the Chatham Plant, will also impact areas of Penal served by the Caroni and Penal Water Treatment Plants.

Areas affected include: San Francique, Doorbassa Trace, Alta Garcia Trace, Penal Quinam, Sunrees Road, Ramjohn Road, Katwarroo Trace, Lowkie Trace, Water Well Road, Reyes Trace, parts of Penal Rock Road, Debedial Road, Bernard Trace, Solomon Knox Trace, La Costena, Charlo Village, Syne Village.
