South Residents Continue To Protest Over Bad Roads

Councillor for Cedros , Shankar Teelucksingh, is calling for bad roads from Cedros to Oropouche to be fixed.

He made the plea to the Ministry of Works and Transport during a protest held at the Vessigny Round About today.

The demonstration started around six this morning.

Tires were burnt on the roadway in some of the communities.

However, the police ensured the flow of traffic was restored.

Councillor Teelucksingh said the bad roads have affected the supply of gas to and delivery services from Cap-De-Ville to Cedros.

Meanwhile, in a media release today, National Petroleum said it conducted an assessment in collaboration with the Programme for Upgrading Road Efficiency unit of the Ministry of Works and Transport and it was determined full accessibility has been restored to the roadway at Chatham for NP vehicles to traverse and deliver fuel.
