Soldier training in Switzerland with T&T Bobsleigh team

Private (Pte) King Nicholas, a Soldier currently serving in the Trinidad and Tobago Regiment, is a member of the Trinidad and Tobago National Bobsleigh Team.
The team is currently undergoing an intensive training schedule overseas in Switzerland in preparation to qualifying for the next Winter Olympic Games.
Pte. King Nicholas enlisted into the Trinidad and Tobago Regiment 10 years ago, on August 9th, 2013, and is currently employed at the Support & Service Battalion, Tetron Barracks, in the Quartermaster Department.
The journey started for Pte. Nicholas when he came across an Instagram advertisement in September 2022 which sparked his interest in the sport.
He then made the decision to inquire and try out for the newly formed Trinidad and Tobago Bobsleigh Team.
With his height, weight, and level of fitness in mind, he reviewed all the team requirements before giving it a shot, and in doing so, was successful in securing a spot on his first attempt.
The team’s goal, according to Pte. King Nicholas, is to once again qualify for the Olympics and to establish a bobsleigh program in Trinidad and Tobago in order to have athletes competing for top spots in years to come.
