Soldier held with guns and ammo in Malick

A member of the Trinidad and Tobago Regiment is among two men currently assisting officers of the North-Eastern Division Task Force (NEDTF) with their investigations into the seizure of three firearms and an assortment of ammunition.

The men, ages 37 and 39 respectively, were arrested following an intelligence-led operation in which several search warrants were executed in the Councilman Circular, Upper Seventh Avenue, Malick area on Saturday 10th October, 2020.

The officers, headed by Sgts Bharath and Martin, and supervised by Cpls Daniel, Majeed and Duncan, proceeded to search a bushy area to the back of a home of one of the suspects where they allegedly found two Glock 17 pistols with automatic selectors, one homemade shotgun, three rifle magazines, 34 rounds of 5.56 ammunition, 20 rounds of 9.mm ammunition, and three ski masks.

The items were seized and taken for forensic processing.

The two men were immediately arrested pending further enquiries by PC Marshall.
