Soldier granted bail for disorderly behaviour

A 41-year-old corporal attached to the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force (TTDF), was granted $1,000 bail by Justice of the Peace Oliver Boodhu yesterday, after he was charged with breaching the Public Health Regulations and disorderly behaviour.

TEVIN ALFRED, of Mango Alley, Trou Macaque, Laventille was arrested and charged by WPC Mayers, of the Port of Spain City Police Task Force. He has 20 years’ service in the TTDF and was last attached to Camp Ogden.

Around 10:45 AM, whilst on mobile patrol along Charlotte Street, a group of persons were observed gathered in the vicinity of Lucky Bakery.

Officers approached the group and instructed them to disperse when they observed ALFRED smoking a cigarette with a face mask under his chin.

He was instructed to wear his face mask properly when he began behaving in a disorderly manner.

He was subsequently arrested and conveyed to the City Police Headquarters.

He will appear before the Port of Spain Magistrates’ Court on the 27th July, 2021.
