The nation is being assured that the necessary counseling will be provided to the family and child who experienced loss in light of the murder of a prison officer on Monday, in the company of his three year old daughter.
The assurance came from Minister of Social Development and Family Services, Donna Cox, in the Senate, Tuesday, during the question and answer period of the proceedings.
Minister Cox was asked by Opposition Senator Jayanti Lutchmedial to advise what interventions will be provided to assist the child in managing the resulting trauma.
Minister Cox said team made up of officials from various units will visit the family.
