Soca Music Breaking Barriers; Patrice Roberts Elated Over Toronto Raptors Half Time Performance

Amazing, soca music is breaking barriers; this is how soca artiste Patrice Roberts describes her feelings before performing at the half time show of the Toronto Raptors special Caribbean Heritage Night hosted by the New Orleans Pelicans.

Roberts landed in Toronto early Thursday morning just hours after taking part in a hectic Carnival in Trinidad and Tobago.

During an interview with City News Sports Reporter Lindsay Dunn, Roberts described the development as a huge accomplishment for soca music, adding that she felt honoured and totally excited.

In another interview on the Brandon Gonez Show, Roberts said she wanted to bring plenty energy to her performance.

Aside for the half time performance and Caribbean quiescence available, the Raptors commissioned Jamaican born Toronto based digital and visual artiste, Troydel Wallace to design a shirt for the night.
