Soca artiste Kimba Sorzano was today granted $85,000 bail after being charged with two sexual offences.
According to a Television broadcast done by Inspector Alexander of the North Eastern Division Task Force, Sorzano appeared before a Point Fortin Magistrate, but was not called upon to plead to the indictable charges of attempted rape and grievous sexual assault.
Sorzano’s case was done via virtual court.
Sorzano was arrested and charged following a report made by the victim.
It is alleged that the crimes were committed during the month of February, Point Fortin.
Sorzano, who was arrested earlier this week, was represented by attorney Kelston Pope.
Inspector Alexander said the soca artiste was ordered to surrender his passport; report twice a week at the Arima Police Station and was ordered to stay 100ft away from the victim.
The court matter was adjourned to June 19.
