Principal Medical Officer Dr Maryam Abdool-Richards has stated that there has been an uptick in children contracting Covid19.
Speaking at today’s press conference at the Diplomatic Centre, St Ann’s, she said “There are currently three severely ill children that are hospitalised.”
Abdool-Richards said these cases are particularly in the South West Regional Health Authority.
Additionally, she said “The overall percentage occupancy of the Parallel Healthcare System is 40 per cent and this has been a consistent trend that we have noted from July 15 onwards.” she said
