Pop singer Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello announced their breakup on Wednesday evening on Instagram stories in a joint statement they posted to their respective Stories.
“Hey guys, we’ve decided to end our romantic relationship but our love for another as humans is stronger than ever.”
“We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends. We so appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward. Camila and Shawn.”
The pair were friends for several years before they started dating in July 2019.
That November, they performed the Grammy-nominated hit again at the American Music Awards.
