Seniors beat and detain bandit who robbed them

A 23-year-old man is today regretting the decision he made to rob a Williamsville family.

Reports indicate that around 9:30a.m on Thursday, the armed suspect robbed a 52-year-old man, his 27-year-old son and their 72-year-old neighbour of cell phones, electronics and jewellery as they sat on the porch. As the suspect attempted to escape, the three men overpowered him and took control of the situation. They relived the suspect of his loaded firearm, beat him and tied him up.

They then called officers from the Princes Town Police Station who arrested the man, and took him to the San Fernando General Hospital to be treated for his injuries.

He is expected to be charged with several offences.
