Independent Senator, Hazel Thompson Ahye, is suggesting emphasis being placed on restorative justice in treating with sexual offences.
During her input to the debate the Independent Senator commented on the implications of the use of pornography and its impact on society.
The Independent Senator urged to government in addition to setting up a sexual offender’s registry other options should be explored.
Another Independent Senator Paul Richards indicated his support to the bill.
However, the Independent Senator cited the importance of sustained efforts in this area.
