There is a suggestion for money proposed to the rehabilitation and developmental fund under regulated legislation for the gaming sector to be increased.
The two funds will be set up in improved legislation to govern the gaming industry.
The proposal comes from Independent Senator, Deoroop Temal, during his contribution to the Gambling (Gaming and Betting) Control Bill 2021 in the Senate today, Friday June 18.
The Independent Senator also reflected on issues relating to gambling addiction and its effect on families and the society.
