A request is made for the government to grant the gaming sector a grace period to pay taxes.
The appeal comes from Opposition Senator, Jearleen John.
Senator John developed on her position citing the severe impact experienced from the fall out of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Senator John made the comments during her contribution to debate which resumed today in the Senate on the Gambling Gaming and Betting Control Bill 2021.
Senator John commended the ruling administration for making provision in the legislation for the setting up of a rehabilitation and
development fund.
The Opposition Senator then elaborated on the management of the fund and effects of gambling addiction.
