Independent Senator, Anthony Vieira, gives his support for a simplified process to appoint a Commissioner of Police and Deputy Commissioner of Police.
The Independent Senator said from his review this simplified process does not affect the work of the Police Service Commission.
Senator Vieira made the comments while contributing to debate on the private motion annulment of the Commissioner of Police and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Selection Process Order) 2021 in the Senate today.
The Independent Senator said with the contract of the Commission of Police coming to an end in August he expressed concern about the selection process being rushed.
