Security guard wounded in roadside shooting

An incident on the roadside in Freeport early Friday morning, has left a 46-year-old female security guard nursing gunshot wounds.

Police report that at around 5.05 am, Task Force police in the Central Division received a report of a shooting at McLeod Trace near the Carapichaima East Secondary School.

On arrival, the responding officers found Malesha Motilal lying on her back with blood oozing out of her right eye and a wound to her left hand. She was dressed in the uniform of the National Maintenance Training and Security Company.

The woman was then taken to the Chaguanas health facility, where she was later transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt Hope.

Investigations are underway.
