Secretary General of the Assoc. of Caribbean States paid the President a courtesy call

His Excellency Rodolfo Sabonge, incoming Secretary General of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) paid a courtesy call on Her Excellency Paula-Mae Weekes.

Information on the visit was posted to The President’s Facebook page this afternoon.

The visit took place at President’s House last Tuesday November 10.

The ACS is a product of the desire of the 35 Contracting States, Countries and Territories of the Greater Caribbean to enhance cooperation within the region, an initiative aimed at building upon obvious geographic proximity and well-documented historical linkages.

Its primary purpose is to be an organisation for “consultation, cooperation and concerted action” for its member countries.

His Excellency Sabonge became Secretary General of the ACS on November 1, 2020. The ACS is headquartered in Port of Spain.
