Second man charged with Kylie Maloney’s murder appears in court

A second man has appeared before a Sangre Grande Magistrate yesterday, charged with the Murder of 6-year-old Kylie Maloney and Shooting With Intent at three victims.

Kenfentse Simmons, 30, aka ‘Fefe’, of Damarie Hill, Sangre Grande, was also charged with possession of firearm and possession of ammunition, when he appeared in the Sangre Grande First Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 24th January, 2023 to answer to the charges.
The matter was adjourned to February 13th 2023.

Kylie, of Foster Road, Sangre Grande, was at her home with her family on Sunday 8th January, 2023, when it is alleged that three men dressed in camouflage clothing and armed with guns entered the property.
The assailants allegedly shot at the house resulting in the victim and three other occupants being hit about their bodies. They were all taken to the Sangre Grande Hospital for treatment, where the girl died.

A male suspect was arrested in connection with the incident by officers of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI), Region Two, on January 19th, 2023.
Investigations were supervised by ASP Douglas, Insp. Ramjag, Sgt. Radhaykissoon and Cpl (Ag.) James, all of HBI Region Two.

Simmons was charged by Cpl (Ag.) James, on Monday 23rd January, 2023, following advice received from Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard SC, on that same date.

Aaron London, 25, also of Sangre Grande, was previously charged in connection with this murder on Monday 16th January, 2023. He also faced charges of Wounding with Intent, and Possession of Firearm and Ammunition.
