Search on for 2 missing Carli Bay fishermen

A search is now underway for two Carli Bay fishermen, who have been reported missing.

They are Navindra Garib aka “Tall Man” and Sutram Boodoo aka “Brain.”

Members of the Carli Bay Fishing Association discovered the two men were missing when their pirogue washed ashore in Granville on Tuesday.

In a release via the social media page of Fishermen and Friends of the Sea, Imtiaz Mohammed, president of the Carli Bay Fishing Association said, “Our ‘Gulf of Pirates’ is becoming more and more murderous.”

“Fishermen are warned to be on guard and be prepared to flee at any moment. Our fishers are being murdered at sea!” Mohammed said.

“With all the brand new multi-million dollar war ship’s docked at the Coast Guard Base, piracy and murder at sea will continue unabated until we have functional radars,” he added.

He is warning fishermen to be on guard for any vessel that approaches within 600 feet and to consider it a dangerous threat and an act of violence.
