The results of the just concluded Secondary Entrance Examination (SEA), will be made available on October 8th.
This was revealed this morning by Education Minister, Dr Nyan Gadsby-Dolly, as she addressed a media briefing to discuss the way forward for September’s virtual reopening of schools.
She said the curriculum for the SEA will be reduced in recognition of the fact that we have had some disruption of the school year.
This entails reducing the number of topics that will be covered by the new batch of students.
Gadsby-Dolly said this approach will be used going forward for the 2021 and 2022 examinations.
In 2021, the exam will be held later in the year, as it was this year.
Concerning the longstanding debate on the SEA and whether it is still needed.
Gadsby-Dolly said her current focus is ensuring the transition of online learning is done smoothly.
However, she assured that the future of the SEA exam will be considered.
