SDMS leader says he was misquoted…PM’s comments “disturbing”

Sanatan Dharma Maha Sabha general secretary Vijay Maharaj says he was misquoted in today’s Express newspaper.

The article in the newspaper says Maharaj labelled remarks by Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley regarding the nation’s education system as “disgusting”.

Rowley noted in a speech recently that some secondary schools were breeding uneducated gang members.

Maharaj however told News Power Now that he said the remarks were “disturbing” not “disgusting”.

Clearing the air on the matter, Maharaj claimed that the Prime Minister’s remarks were disturbing because it was so factual.

He added that he believes the problem alluded to by the Prime Minister began decades ago with the introduction of Junior Secondary schools.
