Scrap Metal Bill 2022 Is Laid In The Parliament By AG Armour

The Scrap Metal Bill 2022 is laid in the parliament by the Attorney General.

AG Reginald Armour told the parliament today, scrap metal exports rose sharply from about 82 million TT dollars in 2009 to an estimated 285 million TT dollars in 2021.

This information is based on data from the Central Statistical Office.

The AG said the bill will allow for a register to be established which will create several benefits.

AG Armour said the law relating to this scrap metal industry in Barbados, Jamaica and the United Kingdom are comprehensive and details particular information in which an applicant must provide.
