Scotland consulting with foreign QC on legal action against CXC

Parents of students who have been affected by their CAPE and CSEC grades are now turning to attorney Keith Scotland for additional support.

Scotland, who is also the MP for Port of Spain South, has expressed interest in the matter, after his daughter Adela Scotland started an online campaign seeking justice for her CAPE results.

Scotland is in the process of compiling information on “numerous students” who have come forward with complaints against CXC.

He is also consulting with a local senior counsel and foreign Queen’s counsel on the matter and will be issuing a formal response to the CXC board sometime Monday.

He said the action being taken is based on “legitimate concerns” from students across the region” as they have seen discrepancies and “we would like them addressed.”

Students stated that they went into the exam with high internal assessment scores but received low grades.
