School Safety Officer accosted at Belmont Secondary School

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service is investigating the accosting of the School Safety Officer at Belmont Secondary School by adult males this morning.

Reports state that two men walked onto the compound where they met and physically assaulted the safety officer.

Police said that after he had been slapped and beaten by the two men, they left.

Staff of the Student Support Services Division are on hand at all schools to render support to staff and students where required.

The Ministry of Education said it strongly condemns these actions which destablize our nation’s schools and interrupt the education of our students.
