Sangre Grande man charged with brother’s murder

A Sangre Grande man is expected to appear virtually before a Magistrate tomorrow, charged with the murder of his brother, Kendall Williams.

MALICK WILLIAMS, 25, of El Carmen Street, Foster Road, was charged with the offence following advice received from Acting Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Joan Honore-Paul, on Monday 29th March, 2021.

Kendall Williams, 26, aka ‘Bushman’, also of Foster Road, Sangre Grande, was at his home on Sunday 21st March, 2021, when he observed two male relatives, one of them armed with a gun, having a heated argument. As Williams approached the men, the gunman ran towards him and fired several shots in his direction. Williams ran off and he was pursued by the gunman who continued shooting at him. He was hit and died at the scene, while the male relative ran off.

The accused was arrested shortly after by officers of the Sangre Grande Police Station.
Investigations were supervised by ASP Douglas of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations, (HBI) Region 2, while WILLIAMS was charged by PC James, also of HBI Region 2, on Monday 29th March, 2021.
