San Juan man charged with sexually assaulting girls ages 6, 13

A 33-year-old man is scheduled to appear before a Port-of-Spain Magistrate today charged with sexual acts against two girls.

The man was nabbed by officers of the Child Protection Unit (CPU) on December 3rd following a report made by a 13-year-old girl that, while at her cousin’s home, she and her six-year-old cousin were attacked by a man not known to them.

According to a TTPS report the 13-year-old girl, was awoken by her six-year-old cousin who asked her if she knew a man who was standing in the doorway.

The report also states that the 13-year-old did not recognize the man who proceeded to cover her face with a towel before allegedly sexually assaulting
her in the presence of her six-year-old cousin.

W/Cpl (Ag) Graham conducted investigations which led to the suspect being apprehended who was later positively identified by
the girls.

He was subsequently charged with one count of sexual penetration of a minor and one count of engaging in sexual activity in the
presence of a child.

The investigation was headed by W/Supt (Ag.) Natasha George, ASP (Ag) Sookdeo and Sgt Bishop.
