San Fernando Man Charged following Shooting Incident

A man will appear before the San Fernando Magistrates’ Court today charged with a series of offences following a shooting incident which occurred in April this year.

KWASI JASON FORDE, 38, an electrician of Romain Street, San Fernando, was arrested and charged by Cpl Nanan of the Mon Repos Police Station, following an investigation into a report made by a man that he was shot at by a man known to him.

FORDE was charged with:
• Shooting with intent;
• Possession of firearm;
• Possession of ammunition;
• Possession of firearm to endanger life; and
• Possession of ammunition to endanger life.

According to the report, at 9.55 am on April 10th, 2020, the victim was at his Pleasantville Circular Left, Pleasantville home, when he was accosted by a man known to him.

During the melee, the man reported to police that, a man allegedly pointed a firearm at him as a struggle ensued between them both. The victim told police that two loud explosions were heard before the man escaped, running along a box drain at the side of his home.

An investigation was launched which resulted in the arrest of the FORDE who was subsequently charged.
