Sagewan-Alli suggests public servants receive a 50% pay cut

Economist and Political commentator, Indira Sagewan-Alli, says Trinidad and Tobago cannot survive this level of COVID-19 lock down.

The economist made the comment in an interview with IzzSo Media as she reflected on the state latest’s COVID-19 measures announced this afternoon by the Prime Minister.

Sagewan Alli is suggesting that the Government find effective ways to boost the economy – she also suggested that public servants ought to sacrifice and receive a 50% cut in salaries; this she said should be done across the board.

 

Sagewan-Alli cited the yachting sector which can generate some economic activity at this time.
