Russia’s President Putin Accuses US Of Trying To ‘Drag Out’ Ukraine Conflict

Russian President, Vladimir Putin, has accused Western countries of trying to extend a “NATO-like” system into the Asia-Pacific region.

President Putin said the United States was trying to “drag out” the conflict in Ukraine.

According to a Reuters report, the Russian leader described as a “thoroughly planned provocation”, the recent visit by United States Speaker Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan.

President Putin made the remarks at the Moscow Conference on International Security.

It is taking place in the Russian capital this week.

Mr Putin blamed NATO’s expansion in Europe for his invasion of Ukraine, which began in February.
