Ruptured pipeline near Curepe interchange causing traffic and water disruptions

A ruptured pipeline along the westbound lane of the highway near the Curepe interchange is causing a water disruption.

WASA says its crews are carrying out excavation works to assess the line and the nature of repairs required.

As such, it notes that it has had to stop the Caroni North Transmission System to allow for safe excavation and assessment work.

WASA adds that the westbound lane’s filter lane to the interchange is currently inaccessible, and motorists should use alternative routes.

WASA says it will provide a further update on the nature of the repairs and expected completion time in a subsequent statement.
