The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) advises customers in parts of North East Trinidad served by the Hollis Water Treatment Plant, who are experiencing a disruption in their scheduled pipe borne water supply at present, that this is due to a ruptured 24 inch diameter transmission pipeline at LP 73 Eastern Main Road, Wallerfield, in the area of the “Double Bridge”.

The ruptured main is located along a river bed and initial assessment indicates that repair is expected to take approximately 48 hours, given the nature of the job.

The areas affected include parts of:

  • Arima,
  • D’Abadie
  • Arouca inclusive Cocorite Road,
  • O’Meara Road,
  • Cleaver Road,
  • Lynton Gardens,
  • Darwill Gardens,
  • La Resource,
  • La Florisante,
  • Lilian Heights,
    Ridgeview Heights,
  • Riverwood Development,
  • Bon Air North,
  • Bon Air West,
  • Bon Air Gardens, areas along the Eastern Main Road from Arima to Arouca.

A limited water trucking service is available to customers impacted by this disruption with priority being given to medical institutions and homes for the aged.
