Rowley-THA meeting today; PDP not expecting much

On the heels of a six-six tie in the January 25 Tobago House of Assembly (THA) election and both the PNM Tobago Council and the PDP members failing to elect a presiding officer on three separate occasions, Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley will finally meet with all THA assemblymen from 9.30 a.m. today to try and come to some sort of an agreement.

The meeting will take place at Magdalena Grand Beach and Golf Resort in Tobago.

The PM will then hold another meeting at noon with THA Chief Secretary Ancil Dennis and former THA chief secretaries and chairmen.

Deputy political leader of the PDP, Farley Augustine said he has very little expectations given how he (Rowley) has treated with this matter to date, but we represent a significant portion of the population, and we feel it right to attend.”
