Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley says the PNM is capable of defending itself in a court of law.
His comments come as political leader candidate, Karen Nunez-Tesheira, and her slate filed a lawsuit against the party over changes made to its internal election process.
The elections this year will be held on 3 separate days within a 6 day period.
Nunez-Tesheira claims the decision is a breach of the party’s constitution.
Referencing the court action in a brief address to a PNM Women’s meeting at the University of the Southern Caribbean in Maracas Valley, St Joseph, Monday night, Prime Minister Rowley said he is ready for the challenge.
