Rousillac man charged with 7 counts of sexual penetration

A 33-year-old man will appear virtually before the Siparia Magistrates’ Court on Monday May 10th, 2021, on seven counts of sexual penetration of a girl, 13.
The man, who lives in Rousillac, was arrested on Saturday May 8th by officers of the Child Protection Unit (CPU), South Western Division.

According to reports, around 3 pm on Monday 24th February, 2020, the victim who was 13 years at the time, ran away from her home and went to the home of the accused in Rousillac. Whilst at the home of the accused, she was lying on a bed in a room at the back of the house, when the accused began kissing her on her mouth and neck. He then had sexual intercourse with her. About 15 minutes after, the accused again had sexual intercourse with her.

The girl also reported that the accused had sexual intercourse with her on five other occasions between February 25th and 29th, 2020.

On Saturday May 8th, acting on information received, Ag/Sgt Taylor went to the home of the accused in company with other police officers, where he observed both the victim and the accused lying on a bed on the western side of the house. The accused was then arrested and taken to the Oropouche Police Station where he was interviewed and later charged with seven counts of Sexual Penetration. The girl was taken into the care and custody of the CPU.
