Reunited! Missing British teen back with family in Sangre Grande

Missing for two weeks and the subject of international reports, Delika White Lezama, 13, has been reunited with her mother.

Reports are that the teen from Greenford, UK, safely returned home at 5.15 pm on Friday evening.

Lezama was last seen on December 17th, when she went behind a corner shop near her grandmother’s house in the northeastern town of Sangre Grande at 4 pm.

Searches for her were conducted by the Anti Kidnapping Unit, the Sangre Grande Police Officers and Hunters Search and Rescue Team.

The Police Service is still investigating the circumstances surrounding her safe return.

Delia White, her mother, had told the British press that “She (Delika) didn’t seem upset or angry when she left – there was nothing that would have made her run away.

“I can’t think of anyone who could abduct her in particular, but everyone knows us, the whole community knows us, and that I come and go from the UK to see my mum all the time.”

Family members had been begging the public for assistance in finding her over the past two weeks.
