Retiree to stage 7-day walk against crime starting Friday

San Juan retiree Bhoopat Rampersad said the death of Andrea Bharatt has struck a nerve with him and he will be walking against crime in a bid to mobilise the country.

Rampersad, who is the manager of the San Juan Youngstars Tassa Group, told media that he intends to have the walk over a seven-day period, starting tomorrow Friday 12 February at 6am from the Red House in Port of Spain.

Rampersad, an avid speed walker, said he will leave Port-of-Spain, then go along the Eastern Main Road to Sangre Grande and make his way to Mayaro, to Rio Claro, to Princes Town, to San Fernando and then use the Southern Main Road to Couva, to Chaguanas, to Curepe and finish at his starting point via the Eastern Main Road.

Anyone is free to join Rampersad on his journey.
