Retired soldier shot and wounded in drive-by at Maloney

Close to 19 live rounds of 9mm ammunition and four 40-calibre spent shells were recovered at the scene of a drive-by shooting in Maloney last evening, which left a retired soldier nursing gunshot wounds.

The 51-year-old victim told police that he was standing near the north-eastern entrance of Building 18 around 6:15pm, when a white Nissan Versa vehicle pulled up and its occupants opened fire.
The vehicle then sped off.

The victim was hit in the left leg and was taken to the Arima Hospital where he was treated and listed in a stable condition.

Investigations are ongoing.
