Red Cross Children’s Carnival delivered through the rain

A section from Rosalind Gabriel’s children’s carnival band titled ‘Icons’ featured two children portraying Soca legend Super Blue.

The Red Cross Children’s Carnival took place at the Queen’s Pak Savannah; where Rosalind Gabriel won the competition’s large band category with her portrayal of ‘National Treasures’.

Gabriel also won the ‘Band of the Year’ title.

Though the event started with rain shower blessings, it did not damper the spirit of the eager children happy to cross the Savannah stage in full costume and glory while dancing ro some of the country’s top Soca music.

Nailah Blackman and Skinny Fabulous’ ‘Come Home’ and Bunji Garlin’s ‘Hard Fete’ were the two main contenders while individual costumes and bands cross the stage; along with Erphaan Alves’ ‘The Spirit’.
