Recipients of social welfare grants will now receive their cheques at home

An arrangement has been made between the Ministry of Social Development and Family Services and the Trinidad and Tobago Postal Corporation (TTPost), to have some cheques for the Social Welfare Grants, delivered to an individual’s home in order to reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection

According to an advisory, persons who usually receive their mail from the Postman or Postwoman will receive their cheques on the 30th June and 1st July, 2021.  The cheques will be delivered to citizens home addresses.

The ministry says as such, citizens can “stay home and relax because there is no need to risk a COVID-19 infection by lining up at any TTPost Delivery Office”.

Those persons who usually collect their mail from Delivery Offices, should visit their respective Delivery Office from Wednesday 30th June 2021, to collect their cheques.

The ministry is encouraging such persons to practice social distancing; wear their face masks; and cooperate with the security on-site, who are “there to ensure you have a pleasant customer experience and attend to you quickly”.

The ministry also advises that if cheques are not received on the days stated above, persons expecting them are asked to call any of the following hotline numbers: 489-4001, 489-4008, 489-4198 and 489-2222.
