Ramkissoon confirms over 100 Tobago fire officers in self-quarantine

Approximately 120 fire officers are under precautionary self-isolation in Tobago after one person was confirmed to have COVID-19 from the Crown Point Fire Station.

This was revealed by President of the Fire Services Association Leo Ramkissoon.

He said sanitisation of the facility has commenced while the Scarborough Fire Station is picking up the slack.

However, he admitted that this was a stretch since the Crown Point location must be in operation to allow the ANR Robinson International Airport to function.

Meanwhile, Ramkissoon urged the administration to manage staff and ensure social distancing measures are practiced to stem the spread of COVID-19.
He also suggested that some fire officers be allowed to respond from home when possible.
