Quick action by firefighters helped save Princes Town home from fast moving bushfire

A bushfire almost destroyed a home in Princes Town on Wednesday afternoon.

However, quick action by the responding fire officers prevented the blaze from spreading to a nearby house at Bonanza Street.

The fire did damage five cars that the owner described as antiques.

The non-functional cars were parked in the yard, however, fire officials, referred to the cars and other items in the yard as derelict.

There were no reports of injury.

Investigations are ongoing.
