Quash heads back to court on January 11 for Ashanti’s murder and rape of a 16-year-old

Luciano Quash, the man charged with the murder of 18-year-old Ashanti Riley has been remanded into custody and will virtually reappear before a magistrate on January 11.

Quash, a 33-year-old PH taxi driver, was officially charged this past Sunday and then appeared on Monday before magistrate Indar Jagroo.

The judge heard that Quash, on a day unknown, during the period Saturday, November 28 and Saturday, December 5, at Upper La Canoa Road, lower Santa Cruz, together with other persons, murdered Riley, contrary to common law.

Quash was not called to plead on the indictable charge and will return to court on January 11.

The man also had two other charges from a separate matter to answer before Jagroo, as he is charged with raping a 16-year-old girl on March 14, at La Canoa Road, Santa Cruz and at Bagatelle Road, San Juan, on the same day. Both charges were laid contrary to section 18 of the Children Act.
He was ordered to reappear on January 11 as well for this crime.
