The Public Transport Service Corporation (PTSC) has launched its Port of Spain to Arima Executive Deluxe Coach Service (EDCS).
The service will officially commence on Monday November 9th.
Present at Wednesday’s launch were MP for Arima and Housing Minister, Penelope Beckles and Mayor Cagney Casimire.
The EDC service will run every hour during peak times- 5:00 am to 8:00 am from Arima and 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm from Port of Spain and will cost $10.00.
PTSC Vice Chairman, Robin Rampersad said the service offers “affordable, safe, comfortable and reliable” public transport.
“The service will provide a premium, personalised and professional experience to the working-class professionals of the Borough of Arima.”
Minister Beckles said the service will help Arima reach the goal of becoming a smart and green city, by providing Wi-Fi on-board and by reducing traffic congestion respectively.
She happily announced that senior citizens would travel for free on the new service.
