Proprietor Charged With Possession Of A Firearm And Quantity Of Ammunition

A 40-year-old proprietor was granted $200,000 bail with a surety on Wednesday after appearing before a Port-of-Spain Magistrate charged with possession of a firearm and a quantity of ammunition.

The accused was ordered to report to his local police station biweekly as part of his bail conditions.

SEAN SAYERS, also called ‘Saeed’ and ‘Butters,’ of Upper Richplain Road, Diego Martin, was arrested on May 9th and later charged on May 11th by PC Bocage of the Western Division Task Force following the execution of a search warrant at a shop.

According to police reports, at 9.40 pm on May 9th, WDTF officers searched a shop during which they allegedly found and seized one Glock 17 nine millimetre pistol and 15 rounds of ammunition.

The shop owner was immediately arrested and charged in connection with the find.

SAYERS is expected to reappear before the court on June 8th, 2022.
