Independent Senator, Paul Richards, is giving his support to a proposal from Independent Senator, Anthony Vieira, a committee be formed which will establish a code ethical conduct for senators.

Senator Vieira made the recommendation while piloting a motion in the Senate Tuesday afternoon.

The private motion is called  un-parliamentary conduct of Opposition Senators.

In his response to the motion, Senator Richards signaled his endorsement of Senator’s Vieira’s motion adding the issue here has more to do with leadership and the importance of it especially at this time in Trinidad and Tobago’s history.

Senator Richards also addressed the implications of a lack of proper leadership even during this Covid-19 pandemic period.
