Arranger Leon “Smooth” Edwards is among four persons given professorial Appointments at The University of Trinidad and Tobago in the areas of Agriculture, Process Engineering, Utilities Engineering and the Performing Arts.
Mr. Edwards is a Professor-in-Practice in Music at UTT’s Academy for the Performing Arts and is a qualified and experienced Music Arranger, Player, Teacher and Motivator in the sphere of steelpan music.
Edwards was successful in leading steel bands to victory, copping the Panorama title 9 times.
The others are Professor Puran Bridgemohan who is a Crop Scientist at the Biosciences, Agriculture and Food Technology Unit at UTT; Professor Rean Maharaj is a member of faculty at the Process Engineering Unit at UTT and Professor Adel Elgammal is a faculty member of the Utilities and Sustainable Engineering Unit at UTT.
