Processing Of Pepper Spray Import Permit Applications To Commence Soon

The processing of applications for Import Permits for pepper spray will begin this week.

Acting Commissioner of Police, Mc Donald Jacob, says this is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, July 13^th.

In a media release on Tuesday, the Acting Police Commissioner said persons can access information on the application process via the TTPS website (www.ttps.gov.tt) from that date.

The statement said retailers can begin submitting applications from August 1st while applications for permits for individual ‘use and carry’ will begin on August 30th.

It added that importers must indicate on the application what they are importing and allow for a period of one to two weeks for the investigation process.
