The Board of the Water and Sewage Authority has given instructions for a detailed investigation will be conducted following reports of the questionable purchase of seven point seven million dollars’ worth of chemicals no longer utilized by WASA.
This update comes from Leader of Government Business in the Senate, Clarence Rambharat.
Mr Rambharat made the disclosure Tuesday during the question and answer period.
Senator Rambharat said the development was related to both the audit committee of the utility and also to the board of WASA following which a decision was taken to carryout a probe into the situation.
Opposition Senator, Wade Mark, wanted to know from the Minister of Public Utilities whether any disciplinary action will be taken against the persons involved.
