Probe Concludes No State Lands Involved In Alenore Gardens Dispute

Land grabbing at Alenore Gardens, Arima does not involve state lands.

This was discovered following investigations done by the Commissioner of State Lands.

Minister in the Ministry of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries, Nigel De Freitas, provided the details during the question and answer period in the Senate on Tuesday.

The Commissioner of State Lands visited the site in February, 2022 together with officers from the Ministry’s Survey and Mapping Division, Arima Borough Council, Land Settlement Agency and the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.

Minister De Freitas said pursuant to the site visit the Ministry’s Survey and Mapping Division conducted the relevant title searches and it was confirmed the parcel in question is privately owned and is not state land.
