Starting today, Monday, 27th February, the Trinidad and Tobago Prison Service will resume online transfers and bank deposits to its Republic Bank account for canteen purchases.
The resumption of this facility follows investigations by the Prison Service into fraudulent activities by customers with their receipts.
The Prison Service said it’s satisfied with the action taken and added that measures have been implemented to prevent future occurrences of fraud.
As an additional facility, the option to deposit funds via cash or Linx at the Golden Grove Prison remains available.
The Prison Service advised those using the online or bank deposit facility to note the inmate’s name, location and classification (remanded convicted) in the description bar or at the rear of the receipt
